Problematic and Painful conditions of the feet, skin and nails include:-

  • Corns and Callouses

  • Bunions

  • Hammer, curly, and deformed toes

  • Inflamed, enlarged and arthritic joints

  • Verrucae

  • Ulceration

  • Infections

  • Ingrowing, thickened and deformed nails

  • Heel, arch and forefoot pain

 

There may be many different causes, including:-

  • Undue pressure from ill-fitting or unsuitable footwear

  • Medical conditions such as Diabetes and Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Dermatological conditions or infection

  • Hereditary or acquired physical deformity

  • Circulatory or sensory problems

  • A poor gait or walking pattern

 

A Course of Treatment will be aimed at:-

  • The relief of painful symptoms and discomfort

  • If possible, cure of the condition

  • Prevention of future problems

 

A course of treatment may include:-

  • General Chiropody/Podiatry for the treatment and relief of painful symptoms and discomfort

  • Biomechanical assessment to determine any underlying gait problems

  • Prescription and provision of either custom-made or proprietary orthotics, to correct or protect against the further development of problems

  • Nail surgery (partial or total nail avulsion) under local anaesthetic, to treat ingrown or deformed nails

  • Course of treatment for Verrucae

  • Low Level Laser Therapy for the relief of pain in conditions such as plantar fasciitis and heel pain, or to promote healing in wounds and ulceration

  • Advice about footwear and foot care

  • Advice and provision of appropriate creams or devices for pressure relief

 

Surgery hours:-

  • Monday 2pm to 6pm

  • Thursday 9am to 1pm / 2pm to 6pm

  • Friday 9am to 1pm / 2pm to 6pm
